ABOUT CHELSEA FAITH.

I am a small batch ceramicist based out of nashville, tn.

I am a mother, wife and lover of all things from our earth. Being a native to michigan, I found my roots surrounding myself in nature. Swimming in open water and walking around in the woods is where I find peace.

after relocating to Nashville in 2015 I was looking for a creative outlet. Somewhere to connect myself again with nature and turned to clay. I signed up for my first class in January 2018, a few months after having our son, and I quickly fell in love with pottery.

the art of pottery has since turned into a love affair. there’s something special about feeling clay between your hands - turning it from a bag of wet clay to a finished functional piece is magical. pottery centers you entirely, it grounds you. for me, pottery has turned into a therapeutic ritual and has turned into something I put my entire heart and soul into.

during fall of 2019, my husband and 20 year tattooer, aj lingerfeldt, started painting on my ceramics. it began with me asking him to paint something special on a tumbler for my every day use. aj wasn’t familiar with the medium of painting on pottery but quickly blew me away with his talent.

I already had plans to begin selling my work but that’s when everything really clicked for us. we had a whole new vision of what we wanted to create together and adopted that into what is now chelsea faith ceramics.

chelsea faith ceramics is a team of life partners turned business partners - chelsea faith and aj lingerfeldt.

all our pieces are hand made entirely by us. chelsea creates each piece by throwing them on the wheel or hand building them. each piece is thoroughly thought out with intention of how it will feel in your hands, what it looks like on your shelves/cabinets and how functional it will be in your day to day life.

our pieces feature an original hand drawn design which is then hand painted by us. we truly appreciate the cohesiveness of our designs and are passionate about sticking to a cohesive look amongst our collection.

I paint all of the modern and vintage inspired designs while aj ties in classic american traditional tattoo designs. aj spends his days drawing up new designs in hopes of tattooing them on his clients. he mentions how painting on ceramics is similar to painting flash for people to buy - I couldn’t agree with him more.

if you aren’t familiar with ceramics, it takes about 3-4 weeks from beginning to end for a piece to be thrown, dry, fired, painted and fired again. we spend a lot of days and weeks working on the pieces we create for your homes. we put so much love into each piece and we hope you love your pieces for a lifetime.

we never imagined our ceramic business to be loved on as much as it has. we truly appreciate y’all being here and for your support. we hope that one day everyone can hold one of our pieces in their hands and feel how much love we put into our ceramics.

thank you for being here. thank you for the support. our little family is entirely thankful for you.

xx chels and aj.
